The Compliance Institute, Nigeria (CIN), the umbrella for professionals working with the compliance ecosystem is set to stage its fifth annual induction ceremony and Annual General Meeting, on Saturday, 4th December, 2021.
According to a release signed by Franca Olomu, the Acting Registrar of the Institute, the all-important digital events which would hold online via zoom will play host to the Director, Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, Alhaji Modibo Haman Tukur as keynote Speaker with theme, “Fostering Common AML/CFT Compliance Standards in Africa – The Need for regional co0operation, Coordination and Collaboration.”
Besides, a total of 100 members who have successfully qualified for the award of the Institute’s compliance professional qualifications in examinations conducted in 2021 would be inducted on the 4th December, 2021 while the Annual General Meeting will hold commence immediately.
Victor Oni said “Our vision is to be acknowledged nationally and globally as the standard setter for compliance practice within the financial industry in Nigeria.”
Justifying the need for compliance professionals, President Compliance Institute, Nigeria, Pattison Boleigha said the establishment of the Compliance Institute, Nigeria, was conceived to address the capacity gaps, promote best practice standards for the compliance profession, and ultimately, contribute to deepening compliance, including effective implementation of AML/CFT preventive measures, particularly within the financial services sector in Nigeria.
Echoing similar sentiments, the Institute, Chairman, Partnership and Communications Committee, Compliance Institute, Nigeria; Abimbola Adeseyoju noted that majority of employers require membership of the Compliance Institute, Nigeria, as pre-requisite for employment.
