NITDA Extends Deadline for Filing Data Protection Audit Report

The Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), mandates organisations that process the personal data of more than 2000 persons within a 12-month period to engage a Data Protection Compliance Organisation (DPCO) for an audit of its compliance with the regulation and other Data Protection standards. This audit report must also be filed with NITDA by 15th March of the succeeding year.

However, due to the continued effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and the renewed interest in compliance, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has extended the statutory time to file the 2020 Data Protection Audit report from 15th March 2021 to 30th June 2021.

Organisations are therefore encouraged to engage the services of a DPCO and comply with the provisions of the NDPR.

We hereby offer our services in this regard. DataPro Limited is a licensed DPCO uniquely qualified to successfully guide your organisation through compliance with the NDPR, as we are one of the only licensed DPCOs with a comprehensive and extensive background in compliance consulting.
